Editorial Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026.

Memória do Gelo publishes informational content with a commitment to clarity, context, identified sources and correction of errors.

Selection and production

Topics may be identified through official releases, scientific institutions, news agencies, recognized media outlets and public feeds. Each publication must add explanation, context or editorial organization; we do not reproduce third-party articles in full.

Sources

We prioritize primary sources, public agencies, scientific research and official channels. When using secondary reporting, we identify the origin. Relevant claims must be attributed and information not yet confirmed is identified as preliminary.

Technology and supervision

Automation and artificial intelligence tools may assist with topic discovery, organization, preliminary translation and draft preparation. The portal remains responsible for published content and applies review of sources, coherence, metadata and media rights. Technology must not invent statements, people, events or references.

Authors and editorial profiles

Author pages identify the editorial profile associated with the content. When a name is a pseudonym or editorial persona, this must be clearly disclosed without creating nonexistent professional credentials.

Images and videos

We use our own materials, public-domain media, open licenses, government collections or materials whose permission for use has been verified. Credit and source are recorded. Contextual or historical images must not be presented as records of a current event.

Corrections and updates

Confirmed factual errors should be corrected promptly. Relevant changes may receive an update note. Substantiated requests can be submitted through the Contact page.

Independence and advertising

Advertising does not determine editorial conclusions. Sponsored content, when present, must be clearly identified. The portal does not accept payment to hide relevant information or present advertising as independent reporting.

Sensitive content

Deaths, disasters, health, conflicts and human suffering are treated without unnecessary sensationalism. We avoid graphic images when they are not essential to understanding the story.
