Memória do Gelo seeks to publish accurate, verifiable and contextualized information. When we identify a factual error, we correct the content transparently without hiding relevant changes.
How to request a correction
Readers, sources and people mentioned may report errors through the Contact page. Please include the publication URL, the disputed passage and, whenever possible, documents or sources supporting the request.
How we assess requests
The editorial team checks the claim against primary sources, official documents and experts when necessary. Differences of opinion are not automatically treated as factual errors.
Types of updates
- Correction: adjustment of inaccurate factual information.
- Update: addition of new facts to a developing story.
- Clarification: improved context or wording to avoid ambiguity.
Transparent record
Significant corrections receive a note in the publication indicating what changed and the date of the change. Purely spelling or formatting adjustments may be made without a note as long as they do not alter meaning.
Removed content
Publications are removed only in exceptional situations, such as proven risk, rights violations or inability to adequately correct the material. Whenever feasible, we preserve the URL with a public explanation.
